Summer 2008 (June-July-August): Equine Facilitated Learning Program with a Green Mountain Falls childrens treatment facility and 16 teen-age girls from their residential girls unit. Our program ran for eight weeks, four days per week, one session of two hours per day, four girls per day. Involved in each session were two Leg Up Equine professionals, one or two facility staff, three to five adult volunteer assistants, and four patient and entertained horses.

 

Fall 2008 (October-November): Equine Facilitated Therapy Program with an El Paso County residential behavorial and mental health center with nine boys and girls ages 8-12. Our program ran for eight weeks on Saturdays for two sessions of two hours each, four to six kids per session. Involved in each session were two Leg Up Equine professionals, two Hospital therapists, six to ten dedicated adult volunteer assistants, and four to six wonderful horses.
